Ulrich completes training

Sparta — Pfc. Charles Ulrich III, a 2008 graduate of Sparta Township High School, completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., in December 2008. Ulrich successfully completed 13 weeks of training and achieved the level of sharp shooter. He was in the 3rd Battalion, Kilo Co. He then completed Military Combat Training at Camp Geiger, N.C. After that, he was assigned to CNATT MAR UNIT, Military Occupational School, at Camp Pendleton, Calif, where he graduated on April 9. From there Ulrich was assigned to HMLA-269 Cobra & Huey Attack Helicopter Squadron as an Aviation Mechanic (flight liner) at New River Air Station, N.C. Ulrich is currently serving in Iraq. He is the son of Charles Jr. and Julie Ulrich, and the brother of Cody and Cole Ulrich.
