Teacher nominated for award

Patricia Marra of Valley Road School in Stanhope has been nominated as Governor’s Teacher Recognition Award Winner for the 2009-2010 school year. Marra is a third grade teacher and a member of the intervention and referral services team. She is an outstanding teacher and person who goes out of her way to help others. Parents and students have described her as a “kind” and “caring” individual. Other qualities describing Marra are professional, courteous, innovative and hard working. She is highly commended for the way she communicates with parents, plus she presents her lessons in creative and engaging ways. The students in her class feel welcomed, comforted and encouraged to participate.
