John Mayer of Sussex was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester at the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. The following local residents have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.: Nicholas Iacopelli of Branchville; Caitlin Stolzenberg of Glenwood; Cheryl Grissom of Hamburg; Ashley Kowal of Newton; Maxwell Lehman of Ogdensburg; Sparta residents Cody Dericks, Sarah Parker, Rachael Senatore and Nicole Yorlano; and Alyssa Dhawan of Stanhope. Jonathan Douglas of Sparta has earned highest honors for the fall 2009 semester at Skidmore College., earned highest honors for the fall semester. Gina Grosso of Newton, a junior at Rider University in Lawrenceville, is one of the top 10 pairs of finalists in the MTV U Oscar Red Carpet Correspondent Contest. If she and her partner win, they will appear on the red carpet for the 82nd annual Academy Awards next month. Grosso and her partner, who both worked at the Rider University Network studio together, teamed up to create a short video about why they should be chosen to cover the Oscars on March 7. In order to advance to the next round of the competition, finalists will be selected by the number of online votes cast by the public. The top three finalists will fly to Los Angeles to take part in the events of the weekend, and one winning team will be chosen to cover the Academy Awards from the “famed” red carpet. Gregory W. Barkhauer of Sparta graduated in December from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa. Barkhauer earned a bachelor of arts in sociology. Adam Stahl of Franklin and Kurt Lortz of Sussex were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H. Jason DenHollander of Wantage has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester at Pennsylvania State University, where he s majoring in nuclear engineering and mechanical engineering. Shari Wejsa of Wantage graduated from Douglass College, Rutgers University, in May 2009 Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a 4.0 cumulative GPA. She received the Helen Prager Miller Prize in History with highest honors and the Micaela Misiego Prize in Spanish. She was the recipient of the Associate Alumnae of Douglass 2009 Fellowship for Graduate Study. She is currently pursuing hew master’s degree at Douglass College in history and Spanish with a planned graduation date this May. Jennifer Wejsa of Wantage was named to the dean’s list for the spring and fall 2009 semesters at Rutgers University, Douglass College. The following local residents have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa.: Thomas Wilson of Franklin; Kelsey Boyd of Lafayette; Sara Morrison of Sparta; Hannah Smock of Stanhope; Richard Albertini of Sussex. Elyse Lauren Earl and Cassandra Michel Mainiero of Sparta have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester at Clarion University, in Clarion, Pa.
