Sneaker of the Month awards

Byram — In the physical education classes at Byram Lakes Elementary School, the students have a chance to win the Sneaker of the Month award. Teachers Michael Kulesa and Linda Vasquez choose four students to win the award. The award goes to a student in each grade (1-4) who shows positive behaviors during gym. Students who are well behaved, good teammates, and positive sports in both winning and losing, have a chance to win this award. The award includes his or her picture taken holding a size 17 sneaker from a former college football player who went to Byram Schools. The picture is then posted on the bulletin board outside of the gymnasium and the students also win a mini sneaker key chain to keep for their efforts.
