Piano student receives special recognition

SPARTA — John Coleman, who attends Sparta Middle School is a piano student of Deborah Cafferata. He has studied piano for the last six years and has been declared a five-year national winner by the National Guild of Piano Teachers. The auditions were held in May of this year in Sparta and John attained his goal of completing a 10-piece program by memory for the last five consecutive years. John is also an honor student at Sparta Middle School and enjoys playing football and lacrosse.
