    William Munkacsy, 92, died Saturday May 24, 2014 at Bristol Glen in Newton. Mr. Munkacsy, son of the late James and Esther Munkacsy was born in McAfee June 24, 1921. He was a resident of Hamburg for most of his life.

    Mr. Munkacsy was a self-employed carpenter/builder. He was a past chief and chaplain as well as an Exempt Member of the Hamburg Fire Department. He was a former Hamburg Borough mayor, councilman and water commissioner. Mr. Munkacsy was a parishioner and usher at St. Jude the Apostle RC Church in Hamburg.

    Mr. Munkacsy is survived by his wife Jean (Kazar) Munkacsy; daughters, Carolann Van Blarcom and her husband, Ralph, of Glenwood, and Marion Murphy and her husband, Anthony, of Hamburg; brother, Michael Munkacsy and his wife, Marie, of Ship Bottom; grandchildren, Karen Eastman, Lisa Permunian and Maggie Castro as well as great grandchildren, Matthew and Rebecca Eastman.

    Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 28, 2014, at 9:15 a.m. from F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin, to St. Jude The Apostle RC Church, Hamburg for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at North Hardyston Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Fire Department services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude The Apostle RC Church Building Fund P.O.
