Sandra D. Van Etten

Sandra D. Van Etten of Vernon, N.J., peacefully passed away at her residence on Saturday, April 3, 2021, while surrounded by her loving family. She was 79.

Born in Jersey City, N.J., to the late James H. and Pearl (Franklin) Flett, Mrs. Van Etten has lived in Sussex County for most of her life. She had been employed as an office manager for the former H&S Chevrolet in Sussex before her retirement.

While her children were younger, Mrs. Van Etten was involved with the local 4-H Club.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her baby boy, James Russell, in 1961; and brother, James P. Flett.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Clifford LeRoy Van Etten Jr.; her son Clifford LeRoy Van Etten III and his wife, Beatrice, of Wantage; daughters, Kathy Facundo of Salt Lake City, Utah, Julia Promnitz of Frankford, N.J., and Vicki Driemel and her husband Kurt of Vernon; former son-in-law, Robert J. Promnitz of Vernon; six grandchildren, Patricia Krol and her husband, Andrew, of Shohola, Pa., Linda French and her partner, Adam, of West Jordan, Utah, Jesse Promnitz and his partner, Danielle Firmenich, of Highland Lakes, N.J., Clifford LeRoy Van Etten IV and his partner, Ashley Karas, of Wantage, Ashley Driemel of Vernon, and Kurt P. Driemel of Vernon; great-grandchildren, Cody and Kati; and great-great-grandchildren, Grayson and Maverick and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 16, at Clove Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will directly follow at Beemerville Fire Department after the burial services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Center of Hope Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860. Private cremation services were arranged by the Pinkel Funeral Home, Sussex, N.J.
