Salvatore Giacchi

    Salvatore John Giacchi, 65 years old, died after a long illness at his home on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015. Born to John and Josephine Giacchi in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was raised and lived in Brooklyn before moving to Franklin, N.J., in 1975.

    Salvatore for most of his career worked as a fleet manager for Lorillard in New York City and served as president of the National Association of Fleet Administrators. Later in his life, he was an insurance agent for American Income Life. Salvatore was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception RC Church, Franklin, N.J. and a long standing and dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus Marquette Council #588 since 1988 where he served as grand knight, past grand knight and district deputy. “Chef Sal” loved to cook and spent countless hours serving as a volunteer preparing meals for many organizations including Immaculate Conception Church and School, Catholic Charities, Covenant House, diocesan Seminarians and the Nothing is Impossible Foundation. He loved the beach and spending time with his family and friends.

    Salvatore is the beloved husband of Carol Giacchi(nee Elmo) of Franklin, N.J. Devoted father of Dawn Dilliplane and her husband, Jon of Philadelphia, Pa., and J.R. Giacchi and his wife, Rita, of Franklin, N.J. Loving grandfather of Brielle, Vincent, Jonathan and Anne Marie. Dear brother of Susan Giacchi of South River, N.J. and Celia Giacchi of N.C. Son-in-law of Providence “Flo” Elmo of Franklin, N.J. Brother in law of Frank and Robin Elmo of Franklin, N.J. Cherished by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

    The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main Street, Franklin, N.J., on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at 10:15 a.m. Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception RC Church, Franklin, N.J.
