    Rolf Normann Sorensen, 72 years old, died after a brief illness at his residence on Saturday, March 29, 2014. Born to Olaf and Esther Sorensen in Brooklyn, he had lived in Stockholm, N.J., then Hamburg, N.J., for 5 years and Dingman’s Ferry, Pa., for four years before moving to Franklin, N.J. three years ago.

    Rolf was a self employed salesman for many years retiring in 2004. He was a former president, board member and very active with the Lake Stockholm Association, served as a councilman and mayor of Hardyston Twp., NJ from 1975–84, was a former member of the North Hardyston Cemetery Board and was a member of the F&AM Masonic Lodge No. 98 in Hardyston Twp., N.J.

    Rolf was the devoted father of Christine Hopler of Rockaway, N.J., Scot Sorensen of Wantage Twp., N.J., and Nancy Baker of Hawley, Pa. Cherished by 8 grandchildren. Dear brother of Anne Lisa Sexton of Chelmsford, Mass.

    Memorial service will be Friday, April 4, 2014 at 4 p.m. at the Stockholm United Methodist Church, 27 Route 515, Stockholm, N.J. Private cremation services by F.
