Judith Iva Layton

Judith Iva Layton of Sparta, N.J., passed away on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon, N.J. She was 81.

Judith was born on June 18, 1940, in Irvington, N.J., to the late Paul and Dorothy (Cuthbert) Mason. She grew up in Sparta, graduated from Newton High School, and lived most of her life in Sussex County. Judith enjoyed bowling and loved to go to the casinos. She will be missed by her loving family.

The beloved wife of the late Ronald Layton, Judith is survived by her children, Jeff Layton and his wife, Kim, and David Layton and his wife, Susan; her grandchildren, Scott, Joshua, Alexis and Ashley; her great-grandchild, Lincoln; and her brother, Robert Mason.

Visitation was held Dec. 3 at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, Newton, N.J., followed by a memorial service.
