    Joseph W. Martin, 74, died peacefully at his residence on Sunday, May 25, 2014. Born in Sussex Borough, N.J., he was the son of the late Walter T. and Maryette (Babcock) Martin, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Hardyston Twp.

    For many years he was employed as a degreaser operator for the Metal Tec Company in Franklin. In his spare time he enjoyed the sport of fishing and was an avid supporter of animal rights. Joseph was very well know to many Sussex County residents as the gentleman that would walk daily on Rudetown Road in his orange jacket always waving to passing cars.

    In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three siblings, a brother Walter Theodore Martin, and a sister Eleanor White and a brother Raymond Martin. He is survived by a nephew Michael Martin and his fiancée, Kristen, of Hardyston, a niece, Yolanda Crane and her husband, David, of Hamburg, along with many other nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his brothers James R. Martin of Harriet AR, and Leo Martin of Montague, N.J., and a sister Elvira Levitt of Martial, Ark., along with his beloved cats “Boog” and “Sox” and his rabbit “Oreo”.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral at Noon on Friday, May 30, 2014, at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin. Interment to Follow at North Hardyston Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
