Joseph Patrick Begley

Joseph Patrick Begley, 74 years old, died unexpectedly at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, New York City on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Born to John and Mary Begley in Brooklyn, NY, he has resided in the Stockholm section of Hardyston Twp., NJ for many years.

Mr. Begley worked as a custodial engineer for the New York City Board of Education for 38 years, retiring in 2001. He loved traveling and cruising the world with his family. Most of all he loved helping people. He had a great appreciation for the entire Columbia University Medical Center LVAD heart team which he considered his second family.

Mr. Begley was predeceased by his brother, John Begley, and is the beloved husband of Christina Begley (nee Sweeney) of Stockholm, N.J. Devoted father of Joseph Begley and his wife, Jennifer of Farmingdale, LI, NY, Karen Rodriquez of Hamburg, NJ and Christina Begley of Stockholm, NJ. Dear brother of Peter Begley of Morristown, NJ, Maureen Keyes of New Providence, NJ and Elizabeth Casey of Staten Island, NY. Loving grandfather of Kaitlin, Amanda, Collin, Luke and Julia. Cherished by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin, NJ on Friday, March 28, 2014, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Vianney RC Church, Stockholm, NJ at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Hardyston Twp., NJ.
