    Ethel M. Stephens (nee Carboy) 89 years old, died after a short illness at her home on Friday, March 28, 2014. Born to Edward R. and Ethel Carboy in Franklin, N.J, she has been a lifelong resident of Franklin, N.J.

    Mrs. Stephens graduated from Orange Memorial Hospital School of Nursing as a member of the United States Nurse Corps in World War II. She then worked as a registered nurse at Orange Memorial Hospital in Orange, N.J., Franklin Hospital in Franklin, N.J., Alexander Linn Hospital in Sussex, N.J., and as a private duty nurse. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin.

    Mrs. Stephens was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Thomas LeRoy Stephens on Oct. 27, 2004, and her youngest daughter, Sandra Drake, in 1990 and was the devoted mother of Susan Smith and her husband, Rusty, of Eutawville, S.C., and Sharon Swiss and her husband, Bill, of Franklin, N.J. Cherished by 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

    The family will receive their friends at the First Presbyterian Church of Franklin on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral service to commence at 11 a.m. at the church. Interment to follow at North Hardyston Cemetery, Hardyston Twp., NJ.
