Donald Finnegan

Donald Finnegan, 48 years old, died unexpectedly at Saint Clare’s Hospital, Sussex, N.J., on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013. Born to Dal and Beatrice Finnegan in Sussex, N.J., he was raised and lived in Hamburg, N.J., before moving to Wantage Twp., N.J., two weeks ago.

Mr. Finnegan received his BA from William Paterson in teaching and taught at Franklin Elementary School for a year before moving to Montague Elementary School in 1991 where he has worked since.

Mr. Finnegan was predeceased by his father, Dal Finnegan and is the beloved husband of Shawn Finnegan (nee McCabe) of Wantage Twp., N.J.. Dear brother of Dal Finnegan of Hackettstown, N.J., Jamie Finnegan of Dingmans Ferry, PA and Brenda Finnegan of Hamburg, N.J. Devoted son of Beatrice “Bea” Finnegan of Hamburg, N.J. Cherished by his extended family of Chris, Tracy, Olivia and Matt Bouma-Hannan of Sparta, NJ.

The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-8:30 p.m. Funeral service to commence at 8:30 p.m. Cremation is private.
