    David F. Wood, “Woodsy”, passed away on Friday June 13, 2014, at the Forest Manor Health Care Center. Born in Sussex, he has been a lifelong resident of Sussex County. He is the son of the late Vernon and Berchie (Williams) Wood.

    For many years he was a farmer and had worked with Sytsema Family Farm in Wantage. Davey was never happier than when sitting on the seat of a tractor, and took pride in a hard day’s work. He was a man of few words and never one to show much emotion, but had the kindness of any good man. He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. Dave Wood will be dearly missed by those who truly knew him.

    He is survived by his sister Barbara Wood of Hardyston, and his cousin, Arnold “Spook” Williams of Matamoras, Pa., along with his dear and close friend, Troy Orr and his wife, Nancy, of Branchville.

    Relatives and friends are attended attend his funeral 10 a.m. on Tuesday June 17, 2014, at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St. Franklin. Interment followed at North Hardyston Cemetery.
