Arnold “Arnie” Hokins, 74, of Franklin passed away on April 6, 2022, after succumbing to his injuries from serving in Vietnam. Arnie was the son of the late Albert and Matilda (nee Anderson) Hokins. Born in Passaic, NJ, Arnie grew up in Clifton, NJ. Graduating from Clifton High School in 1966. He joined the United States Army, in which he served from 1967 to 1970. Arnie was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He later moved to Franklin, NJ in 1979.
He graduated from Morris County Community College and worked various jobs throughout his career. Arnie was a very artistic man, who enjoyed photography, cars, ceramics, and gardening. He was proud member of the local VVA.
Arnie was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Matilda, his sister Sandy, and his godson Jack. Arnie is survived by his friends Nicole Swank and her fiancé Kyle Bergman, Lenny Helmstetter and his wife Heidi, Lorraine Mills, Marylinn Lonie and her family, and his many friends from his Church group and VVA chapter.
Visitation for Arnie will be held Monday, April 18, 2022 from 2-5:30 PM at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ 07416. Funeral service will follow at 5:30 PM. Cremation is private. Burial of cremains will be at Northern NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Friday, April 22, 2022 at 11;00 AM.
