Muller wins teacher excellence' award
SUSSEX High Point Regional High School teacher Dan Muller was named a “teacher excellence winner” at the recent annual conference for the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association. Muller was recognized during its general session where the award and plaque were presented. According to the association, the Teacher Excellence award is the most prestigious award given recognizing technology education teachers. The awards were presented to elementary, middle, and high school teachers. ITEEA is a partner with Goodheart-Wilcox Publishing in providing recognition. This award honors individuals within the membership of NJTEA who make an effort resulting in positive reflection of Technology Education outside of the profession. Muller’s actions have helped to spread awareness about the benefits of technological literacy for all students, according to officials. Muller was recognized for his dedication to students, curriculum development and teaching style. “He has the activity design gift and he knows how to design situations relevant for today’s students so they are technologically literate,” said Supervisor Mark Wallace. Muller was also recognized with the NJTEA High School Teacher Excellence Award and the NJTEA Image Award. High Point was awarded the High School Program Excellence Award from TEANJ in 2003 and the state’s first Five Star Award for Technology Education Excellence in 2003 and 2008.
