Malinowski honored by Monmouth U

Former student nominates her math teacher for her passion for teaching West Long Branch Sparta resident Jean L. Malinowski, a mathematics teacher at Wallkill Valley Regional High School for ten years, was one of three New Jersey secondary school teachers honored by Monmouth University at a recent dinner. She received a $1,500 award and was recognized at Monmouth University’s commencement in May. Malinowski and was nominated as the Teacher of the Year in 2006. In addition to her teaching duties, she is the advisor to the National Honor Society at the school and is involved in home instruction for students. She was nominated by former student Diane Washer who said: “Ms. Malinowski possesses many qualities that make her one of the best teachers that I have ever encountered. She has a love and passion for teaching. She created a positive learning environment and set her expectations high for every student. Due to her undeniable impact on my life, I am pursuing a career in education.” The Monmouth University-Roberts Charitable Foundation Award was instituted in 2006 by life trustee, William Roberts to recognize outstanding secondary school teachers who made an important contribution to the education of current Monmouth University students. Each teacher was nominated by a Monmouth University senior student for their outstanding teaching proficiencies and dedication to education.
