Local Marine serves in Afghanistan

Wantage — Jeffrey Daniel Veltri of Wantage joined the Marine Corps in October 2008 and is serving in Afghanistan as an ammunition chief. Veltri is soon to be promoted to corporal. The son of Wieslawa and Jeff Veltri, he has two sisters, Kristen and Jessica Veltri. He was recently engaged to Ashley Sandborn, also of Wantage. A family statement reads: “His entire family is very proud of him and all that he has accomplished, and is yet to finish. We love him and miss him, and anxiously await his return in February 2010 to his home base, Camp Pendleton, Calif.” Veltri is a 2007 graduate of High Point Regional High School.
