SPARTA — Sparta High School has chosen Christopher Kerr of Sparta as the 2009 recipient of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award Program. The West Point Society of New Jersey sponsors a number of high schools throughout New Jersey. Each year, these high schools select a high school junior who exhibits exceptional performance and potential in the areas of academics, athletics, community service, good citizenship, and leadership. At Sparta High School, Kerr is a member of the National Honor Society, The Russian Honor Society, DECA, Peer Development, and Art Club. During high school, he has played on the Sparta football and lacrosse teams. Each Friday morning, he co-leads the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
