Hogh named Student of the Month

NEWTON Joseph Hogh was recently named Kittatinny High School’s Student of the Month for September by the Hampton Township Rotary. Hogh is a National Honor Society tutor who helps other students with algebra, French and U.S. history. He helps to wrap care packages for soldiers stationed in Iraq each year. He is a member of peer leadership and assists with disabled adults at K3D, the annual program that partners KRHS and SCARC. In the community, Hogh has volunteered to plant flowers, clean roadways, wrap and sort gifts, make sandwiches, and serve food for community service organization such as Ginny’s House, Pass-It-Along, Newton Food Pantry, Bridges Outreach, Bristol Glen Retirement Home, and Stillwater Clean-Up Day. He also harvests corn and beets at Genesis Farms and he does landscaping chores for senior citizens. Hogh is a captain of the Kittatinny varsity football team where he plays tailback, fullback, and outside linebacker. Last year, he received a coaches award for his efforts on the football field. He was a first-time player for Lacrosse last year where he received the “Rookie of the Year’ award. Outside school, his interests include fishing, hunting, and snow boarding. He anticipates a career in law enforcement and plans to attend college and pursue studies in criminal justice.
