West Milford — On May 17, West Milford Presbyterian Church confirmed eight young people. They have completed a two-year course of study in the Bible and learned about the Presbyterian Church. Those confirmed are Wesley Todd Pierce, Jessica Raff, Andrea Syvertsen, Jennie Sweet, Amanda Faerber, Amanda Hepp, Lacey Celine Collette Denning, and Emily Noel Townsend. As part of their confirmation they also have participated in a variety of community service activities, including the annual C.R.O.P. Walk, which raises money to fight world hunger, and packed over 270 boxes of books for rural reading centers in Africa. In addition to the hard work they have had fun times together at lock-ins and rock climbing. The confirmands worked with a sponsor from the church board. The confirmation class was taught by Kit Wallace and Jordan Haferbier, and the students also worked with Sandy Smidt, the director of Christian Education, and the Rev. Dr. Janet Macgregor-Williams, the church’s pastor. West Milford Presbyterian Church is delighted to welcome these young people to their membership.
