Berkeley College President Dario A. Cortes, PhD, recently announced that Amanda Casella of West Milford has been inducted into Sigma Beta Delta, a national honor society. Two West Milford residents have been named to the Messiah College dean’s list. Jane DeBoer, a junior majoring in social work, and Erin Smith a junior majoring in music education were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester. Students need a grade point average of 3.6 or better to make the list at Messiah College, which is loated in Grantham, Pa. Chelsea Fowler of West Milford was named to the dean’s list at the University of New Haven for the fall 2009 semester. Full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA for the semester to be eligible for the dean’s list. Alexandre Bieri, of West Milford, has been named to the dean’s list for the 2009 fall semester in Villanova University’s College of Engineering (Villanova, Pa.). Alexandre is a junior. John Madura of Hewitt has been named to the Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s fall 2009 dean’s list. John is a sophomore at Worcester, majoring in mechanical engineering. Margaret Mohrenweiser of West Milford has been named to the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Commandant’s List. Mohrenweiser, a Navy cadet, is a sophomore majoring in electrical engineering in the College of Engineering. In order to make the list, cadets must earn a 3.0 or greater grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) during the previous semester. For the fall semester, 358 cadets were selected for the Commandant’s List. Lorraine Donnelly of West Milford and Heather Dugdale of Oak Ridge were named to the Caldwell College dean’s list for the fall semester. In order to achieve this honor, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and complete at least 12 credits during the semester. Scott Brewer of West Milford, an English and history major at Rider University, was named to the university’s dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester. Brewer achieved a 4.0 grade average; students with an average of 3.5 or above are eligible.
