Andover resident Ashley Ferraro, an honors student and distinguished scholar attending Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa. was named to the dean’s honor list for the spring semester with a 4.0 GPA. She is a 2006 Lenape Valley Regional High School graduate. Ferraro has been invited to present her honors project, “A Perfect Harmony: The Interaction of Physics and Music Theory to Create Today’s Grand Piano”, at the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference in Washington, D.C. this October. Sparta resident Staci Alario, a graduate of Blair Academy, recently received her bachelor’s degree from The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Sparta High School graduate Tristan Gromek, who now attends Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, was named to the dean’s list for her the fall and spring semesters, finishing with a 4.0 GPA. She plays club rugby and is a member of AOPI Sorority. Misael Manjarres of Sparta and Meredith Austin Granwehr of Newton recently graduated from the University of Connecticut. Vincent Gengaro of Ogdensburg recently received his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. He will continue at Quinnipiac and pursue a doctorate degree in physical therapy. Gengaro is a 2005 graduate of Wallkill Valley Regional High School. Sparta resident Elyse Lauren Earl has been named to the dean’s list at Clarion University in Clarion, Pa. for the second semester of the 2008-2009 academic year. She is a elementary education/special education major. Three area residents received their bachelor’s degrees during recent commencement ceremonies at SUNY Cortland in Cortland, N.Y. They are Sussex resident Aimee J. Stormes, who graduated magna cum laude; Wantage resident Monica Caroline Vatalaro, who graduated cum laude; and Newton resident Parker James Wetmore, who graduated cum laude. Stockholm resident Andrew Cranisky recently graduated summa cum laude from Drew University in Madison with a bachelor’s degree in English and theatre. Cranisky is a member of the Sigma Tau Delta honor society, as well as a four-year member of the Drew Chorale and 36 Madison Avenue a cappella group. After graduation, he traveled to Uganda with the Drew University Uganda Initiative where a group of Drew students are building a school for orphans of AIDS patients. When he returns, he will work at Woodlands, a facility for children with disabilities in Wexford, Pa., Cranisky graduated from Wallkill Valley Regional High School in 2005. Erika Lynn Wawzyanick of Wantage graduated with a bachelor’s degree in History McDaniel College in Westminster, Md. Cheryl Grissom of Hardyston was named to the spring 2009 dean’s list at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., where she is an accounting major with a minor in law. Four area students were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. They are: Oak Ridge residents Ashley Chacon-Baker and Matthew Dallicardillo; Kellie Reidinger of Ogdensburg; and Ashley Whelan of Stockholm. Rebecca Furman of Oak Ridge has been named to the spring 2009 dean’s list at Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, Pa. Stephen Tiberi of Vernon graduated magna cum laude from William Paterson University. He received a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education. He is the son of Mike and Judi Tiberi and brother of Matt Tiberi. Kristen Paporello of Newton was named to the spring 2009 dean’s list at Elizabethtown College, in Elizabeth, Pa. She is a senior elementary ed - special education major. Lars J. Petersen of Newton, a political science public policy major, graduated from Bloomfield College.
