Jaclyn McConville, a 2007 Sparta High School graduate, was named to the president’s list at James Madison University in Virginia for the fall semester. She is a junior political science major who recently completed an internship for Sen. Mark Warner in Washington, D.C. and is a member of the Student Government at JMU. Sparta Resident Bryan Neumann was named to dean’s list at the University of New Haven in West Haven, Ct. Donna Stoll of Franklin, a student at Wallkill Regional High School, has received a scholarship to attend Dover Business College in Dover. Scholarships are awarded annually to high school graduates who demonstrate a high level of achievement. Two students from Sussex County have been inducted into national honor societies at Berkeley College: Katelin Lorito of Stanhope, into the Financial Management Association; and Maureen Wisniewski of Highland Lakes, into Phi Theta Kappa. Alex Cirone of Sparta was named to the fall 2009 dean’s list at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Pope John graduate Sarah Johannes, of Sparta, was inducted into The Rho Chi Society at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Pharmacy School. Richard Tomko of Sparta has accepted membership in the Golden Key International Honour Society at Seton Hall University. He is currently a doctoral candidate in the educational leadership program. Benjamin R. Van Wyk, son of Craig and Lisa-Ann Van Wyk of Sussex, was named to the fall 2009 dean’s list at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich. He is junior majoring in history and a graduate of High Point Regional High School.
