Elise Brancheau of Newton performed Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 with the Westminster Symphonic Choir and the San Francisco Symphony, conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas on Friday, March 26 at Carnegie Hall in New York. Brancheau is a student at Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton and a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir. Westminster Choir College is a division of Rider University’s Westminster College of the Arts, which prepares students at the undergraduate and graduate levels for careers in teaching, sacred music and performance. It has been estimated that each week more than one million people worldwide study or perform under the leadership of a Westminster graduate. Janessa LaMastro of Sparta, a senior at Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I,, has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester. Chelsea Pavelchak of Andover, a first-year marketing major at York College of Pennsylvania, was among a group of students who traveled to El Salvador during winter break with the college’s SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) chapter. Stephen Stout of Andover has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2009 semester at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
