    Janel Nicole Gallucci of Hewitt received a bachelor of arts in communications/advertising from Marist College on May 23. Laura Otte and Francesca Miele of West Milford were named to the Drew University dean’s list. In order to qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade point average of 3.4 or above, which is equivalent to a B+ or better. Daniel P. Kane of West Milford graduated from Quinnipiac University on May 10 with a doctor of physical therapy . Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced that John Madura, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Madura of Hewitt, a first year student majoring in mechanical engineering, was named to the university’s dean’s list for academic excellence for the spring 2009 semester.The criteria for the WPI dean’s list differ from most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the dean’s list by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects. Matthew J. Ban of West Milford graduated from Wagner College in Staten Island on May 22, 2009. Matthew was named to the dean’s list by achieving a 3.5 average and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in theatre performance for the spring semester. Currently Matthew is performing at the Surf Light Theatre in New Jersey. Chelsea Fowler of West Milford was named to the dean’s list at the University of New Haven for the spring 2009 semester. Full-time undergraduate students must have a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA for the semester to be eligible for the dean’s list. Evan R Stanhope of West Milford graduated from the University of New Haven at the spring commencement held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 with a bachelor of arts in music industry. He was also named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. The following students graduated in May from Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck: Jessica Mirrer of Hewitt received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Valerie Goossen of Hewitt received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Michelle O’Keefe of West Milford received a bachelor’s degree in individualized studies; Nicole Protomastro received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her master’s degree in psychology general theology; and Richard Klemm received a master’s degree in administrative science. Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus has named Matthew Mockoviak and Carolyn Soehngen of West Milford to it’s honors list. A student must have a 3.5 or better grade point average out of a possible 4.0. Caldwell College has announced its spring 2009 dean’s list. Among the 351 students who achieved the honor, which requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average and a minimum of 12 credits, are Melissa DeFalco of Hewitt, Lorraine Donnelly of West Milford, and Ewa Stelmach of West Milford, The following students at William Paterson University in Wayne, have been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester: Richard Bejgrowicz, Robert Beck, Bryan Carbone, Christopher Carbone, Linda Finaldi, Chelsea Fretterd, Danielle Masters, Carson Padley, Kenneth Ryerson, Christina Schwartzman, Kira Worley all of West Milford; Susan Wright of Newfoundland; Tyler Artress, Felicia Gorman, Matthew Lutz, Kevin Lynch, Robert Suhai, and DeAnna VanderPloeg of Oak Ridge; and Erin Brady, Jasen Corrente, Christina Freer, Brian Heacook, Nicole Trossman, Danielle Zeltner of Hewitt.In order to qualify, a student must carry a minimum of 12 credits for the semester and earn a grade point average of 3.45 or better. Kimberlee Hart of West Milford graduated from Dover Business College on July 18 with a licensed practical nursing degree. She was one of 427 graduates at the Dover Business College commencement ceremony. Kaitlyn Jankowski, a 2008 graduate of Pope John High School, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Va. Kaplan University celebrated the graduation of its summer 2009 class on July 25 in Chicago. Karen Sajban-Spardel of West Milford was awarded a bachelor of science in business administration. Jennifer Stafford of Hewitt was awarded an associate’s degree of applied science in paralegal studies. Alexandre Bieri, the son of Bettina Bieri of Pinecliff Lake in West Milford, was named to the dean’s list at Villanova University for both the fall 2008 and spring 2009 semesters. Alex is majoring in mechanical engineering and minoring in business. The Villanova College of Engineering is ranked as the #10 undergraduate engineering program in the nation by US News & World Report. The Villanova School of Business is ranked as the #11 undergraduate business school in the nation by BusinessWeek.
