Award winners

The Knights of Columbus Marquette Council 588 in Sparta recently presented its annual Shield Awards. From left: Teacher of the Year is Joyce Barkowski of Immaculate Conception Regional School in Franklin; First Aider of the Year is Deborah Reidmiller of the Lakeland First Aid Squad; Senior Citizen of the Year is Joe Masar of Franklin; Law Enforcement Officer of the Year is Roger Nestel of the State of New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife; and Fireman of the Year is Capt. Dennis Wottle of the Ogdensburg Fire Dept.; Presenting the awards was the Community Director of the Knights of Columbus, Stephen L. Marino.
