Sussex man found dead in Lincoln Park
MORRIS COUNTY. A body found in a wooded area was identified as the driver of a vehicle involved in a fire a half-mile away.
Police identified a man found dead Saturday, Jan. 21 in Lincoln Park as Anthony Zaccaro, 33, of Sussex, according to published reports.
A statement from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office on Jan. 21 said the Lincoln Park Police and Fire Departments were notified of an active vehicle fire in a commercial area at 4 Ungerer Road about 7:15 a.m. First-responders extinguished the fire.
About 3 p.m., the body of a man was discovered in a wooded area in Lynn Park, a half-mile from the fire scene. The investigation confirmed that the man found was the driver of the vehicle involved in the fire.
The cause of death was pending findings of the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office, but there was no indication of suspicious criminal activity, the statement said.
The investigation was conducted by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morris County Sheriff’s Office and Lincoln Park Police and Fire Departments.
A GoFundMe page created to raise money for Zaccaro’s fiance and two children says, “Anthony tragically passed away this weekend, leaving behind a heartbroken fiance, Hannah, and two beautiful children, Brooklynn and Raymond.”
On the page, Hannah Delea wrote, “Anthony was my best friend, the love of my life & the best daddy to our babies. He was the hardest worker ... . He put his all into everything he did & did it better than anyone.”
