the military with free entry BYRAM TOWNSHIP — Men and women of the Armed Forces will be admitted free to Wild West City as the western theme park celebrates Armed Forces Day for an entire weekend, May 15 and 16. Anyone with military ID accompanied by a paying child can enjoy free admission on either Saturday or Sunday, May 15-16. While Armed Forces Day is actually Saturday, Wild West City wants to honor our heroes both days. Wild West City, a life-size replica of an 1880s frontier town located in Byram Township, is celebrating its 53rd season this year. It presents a host of live action shows, stagecoach, pony, and train rides, and gold digs, as well as a miniature golf course, farm animals and other activities. Visitors are invited to bring a picnic lunch or purchase lunch or snacks at the Golden Nugget Saloon. Visitors can mingle throughout the day with the Wild West City cowboys, whether or not they “dress-up” for the part. Wild West City is open every weekend through mid-June and then daily beginning on June 19, with special attractions every weekend. Wild West City is located in Byram Township, just a few short minutes from Routes 80, 206 and 46 and near Mount Olive. Among the many special activities planned this summer are Wild West Dress-Up Day, Scout’s Weekend, Annie Oakley 150th birthday celebration and Native American Tribal Dancers. The park is open from 10:30 am to 6 p.m. daily through Labor Day. For more information and ticket prices, please call 973-347-8900 or visit the website at www.wildwestcity.com.
