Tenafly — There will be some familiar faces at this weekend’s performances of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, being performed at Tenafly High School. Four West Milford High School students-one who just graduated- are part of the North Jersey Summer Theatre Workshop’s production. Arden Winant, who will be a senior at West Milford High School in September, is performing the role of Mrs. Lovett in the show. Maggie Latona, an incoming junior, new graduate and Montclair State University student Richard Hanson, and Megan Milko, who will be a senior, are members of the company. The show is about a wrongly imprisoned ex-convict, Sweeney Todd, who returns to his hometown to open a modest barber shop, bent on revenge against his accusers. The customers at his barber shop may come in for a trim, but they are never seen again, thanks in part to the assistance he receives from his amorous accomplice, Mrs. Lovett. The North Jersey Summer Theatre Workshop is open to all North Jersey high school students, including incoming freshmen and outgoing seniors. The show dates for Sweeney Todd include Friday, July 31 and Saturday Aug. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Tenafly High School, located at 23 Columbus Drive in Tenafly. Tickets are $10 for students, $20 for adults, and $30 for premium seating. They may be purchased online at tenaflytheatre.com or at the door.
