Watercolor weekend is Oct. 17 and 18

NEWTON - 24 Karat Designs Calligraphy Studio is hosting a Watercolor Weekend Workshop on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17 and 18, at the 9 Moran St. studio. The beginner level workshop, titled “The Beauty of Watercolor Painting,” will be facilitated by Janis Cutler Gear, an award-winning artist, accomplished painter, and ceramic sculptor. Students will learn the basics of watercolor techniques and applications, and complete their own seascape painting. Gear, a resident of Branchville, holds an MFA from New York Academy of Art.
