Wallkill refuge holds August sketch programs

    Vernon — The Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge will hold basic drawing and sketching programs in August for those interested in drawing and sketching wildlife. The program will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 2 p.m.; Sunday, Aug. 10 at 3 p.m.; and Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 6:30 p.m. Tips for basic drawing and sketching, as well as observing nature will be discussed briefly at the refuge headquarters. The guided group will walk into the refuge to different drawing spots to sketch landscapes and wildlife. Basic drawing materials — -charcoal, pencils, erasers, and sketch books — will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own materials and should bring a hat, sunscreen and something comfortable to sit on/in if desired.
