Hidden Valley held their annual "Idol on the Mountain" karaoke contest on Friday, August 20th. Thirty two contestants rocked, rolled, and sometimes roared their tune in an effort to capture the $500 cash prize. After all contestants performed their song of choice, three judges narrowed the field to five, and the top two winners were chosen by the crowd of about 100. The second place winner was Chris Derr of Wantage, who belted out an awesome rendition of "Jailhouse Rock" by the King himself, Elvis Presley. First place winner was Charley Defreesa of Hewitt, who wowed the crowd with talent and style, singing "Redneck Woman". Hidden Valley will hold another karaoke contest next year…so get your vocal cords ready! For more information on events at Hidden Valley, visit or call 973-764-4200.
