New Jersey Ballet celebrates some of Broadway's most memorable dance sequences when it performs Ballet on Broadway at the Mayo Performing Arts Center on Saturday, May 17 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $29 to $59.

New Jersey Ballet returns on Sunday, May 18, with two performances of Cinderella at 1:30 and 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 to 25. This performance is recommended for ages 4 and above.

Ballet on Broadway will include the Challenge Dance from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and Too Darn Hot from Kiss Me Kate, both staged by Patti Colombo, and March, a New York-y piece with a decided Fosse flavor by Kinney.

The evening will also include two of the company's recent repertory additions Hand in Hand, a Celebration of Count Basie, and Stride in Style which skips through the evolution of stride piano style. Both ballets feature Jazz Age music by Count Basie, Wayne Shorter and many others and choreography by Alvin Ailey's Matthew Rushing (Basie piece) and Stride in Style by much in-demand young choreographer James Kinney. These two pieces are part of New Jersey Ballet's project celebrating the state's 350th anniversary.

Special guests, The Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir, will bring their spirited young voices and snappy choreography to a medley of musical theatre show-stoppers.

The Mayo Performing Arts Center is located at 100 South St. in Morristown. For tickets and more information contact the box office at 973-539-8008 or www.mayoarts.org.
