Newton TraillWorks is holding its first student art exhibit until Sunday, June 28. Exhibiting students hail from all over Sussex County, including Laurel O’Rourke of Blairstown, Anthony Cucinotta of Wantage, Ruth Moore of Sparta, Jake Scordato of Andover, and Mike Daniels, Noa and Miles Shaw from Newton. Students participating have worked throughout the year developing a variety of works in oils, watercolor, colored pencil, and charcoal. The subject matter of the artwork is influenced by the students’ interest or suggested by art educator, Jennie Traill Schaeffer. Actively painting and trained as an educator, Schaeffer provides students with an opportunity to deepen their own understanding of producing art, while broadening their skills. TraillWorks a studio, gallery and lesson space accepts school-age students through adults for private and semi-private lessons. The $35 registration fee will be waived for any student who enrolls for lessons at the reception. For more information visit www.traillworks.com or call 973-383-1307. TraillWorks is located at 135 Spring Street, in Newton.
