The 1950s return to the Chatterbox

AUGUSTA — A Sock Hop-style dance will be held at the Chatterbox on Monday May 3 from 7 to 10 p.m. The night will feature live Doo Wop Music by “Desire.” Hors d’oeuvres are being provided by Andre’s Restaurant in Newton and the Dining Room in Sparta. Dinner will feature choice selections from the Chatterbox’s extensive menu and an ice cream bar is being generously donated by Cliff’s Homemade Ice Cream in Roxbury. Beer, wine and cocktails will be available for the evening. Tickets are available at Andre’s Restaurant in Newton or at the Chatterbox for a $35 donation. Proceeds will go to Katie’s House, Inc a group home for developmentally disabled young adults in Newton. Katie’s House also provides classes in dance, art and cooking as well as a structured social environment for young adults with developmental disabilities, enabling them to make friends and to better interact socially with their peers.
