Sussex County Bird Club announces November field trips

    SUSSEX COUNTY-The Sussex County Bird Club will be sponsoring two field trips in November. These field trips are open to all members of the public. Both beginner and experienced birders are welcome. At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, the club will lead a hawk-watching trip to Sunrise Mountain in Stokes State Forest. The group will meet at the pavilion at the top of Sunrise Mountain to watch for migrating hawks. Participants should bring binoculars and lunch and should dress for cold, windy weather. At 8 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21, there will be a field trip to several lakes in Sussex County to search for migrating waterfowl. The group will meet at 8 a.m. at the parking lot next to the Andover Firehouse on Route 206 to carpool. Participants should bring binoculars and lunch. The club meets at the ambulance building in Sparta on the third Friday of September, October, November, January, February, March, and May.
