Sussex County Arts Council accepting entries for holiday exhibits

Newton — The Sussex Council Arts and Heritage Council is still accepting entries for the upcoming Holiday Arts Exhibit. Artists are encouraged to submit art work that is holiday themed. The deadline for registration and artwork drop-off is Sunday, Nov. 15, from noon to 3 p.m. and Monday, Nov.16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Public Gallery, 3rd floor, located in the Sussex County Judicial Center, 43-47 High St., in Newton. The exhibit will be on view at the Spring Street gallery from Nov. 21 to Jan.9, 2010. An Artists’ Opening Reception and Annual Tree Lighting and entertainment by George Stritter is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Sussex Council Arts and Heritage Gallery, 133 Spring St. in Newton. Entry forms will be available on the drop-off days and at www.scahc.org. There is also another opportunity to show off holiday and seasonal art work at the Public Gallery, where they will be accepting entries for the upcoming exhibit, Winter Solstice. Artists are encouraged again to submit holiday art or winter scenes. The exhibit will be on view on the 3rd floor from Nov. 24 to Jan. 12, 2010.
