Summer dance intensive to be hosted by Centenary Stage Company

Hackettstown The Centenary Stage Company will sponsor its second annual summer dance intensive at Centenary College this summer, July 9 through July 11, 9 to 4:30 p.m., on the college’s campus in Hackettstown. The three-day intensive provides the dance community with high quality dance instruction. Last year, over 35 young dancers in the area, ranging in ages 14 to 25, attended the workshop. During the first part of the day the students will engage in various disciplines of dance and movement such as modern, jazz, ballet and yoga. In the afternoons the students will participate in a three-hour workshop that will be led by professional choreographers and dancers. On Friday, July 9, and Saturday, July 10, Trista Redavid and Sarah Rutledge from “R-2 Dance” will lead workshops in repertory, modern and choreography. “R-2 Dance” has presented works at the SWEAT modern dance series, and at the Hatch in New York City, as well as various local venues. Trista Redavid DeFilippis and Sarah Geroulo Rutledge have been active in the dance field for over fifteen years, performing, choreographing and teaching professionally. On July 11, Justin Boccitto will hold a workshop in the disciplines of musical theater. Other instructors in the dance intensive include local professionals, Christine Mase, adjunct professor at Centenary and Branchville Dance Center; Kristen Egan, adjunct professor of dance County College of Morris and Centenary College; Lea Antolini-Lid, assistant professor of Theatre, Centenary College, certified yoga instructor; and Jennifer Stoskus, adjunct professor, Centenary College: part-time at the Kessler Institute in Chester, N.J.
