Summer activities for children

    “Project Vacation: A Journey to Africa,” for children age four to eight, from Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to noon The camp will highlight the history, art, geography and cuisine found throughout Africa. The fee is $10 per child. Space is limited and registration is required. “Just for Girls Summer Camp” for middle school girls, from Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours available for working parents. Camp fee is $10 per child. Space is limited, and registration is required. Free weekly family movie nights, scheduled for Friday evenings during the months of July and August. Classic movies will be screened from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., beginning Friday, July 10 and running through Friday, Aug. 28. Story hours will be offered for separate age groups, ages three to six and ages seven to 10, on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Children are invited to listen to a favorite story, create a craft and have pizza with their friends.
