Skylands will host music and arts fest

Knowlton Township The Skylands Music & Arts Festival is prepping for its inaugural three-day music show, to take place Aug. 14 to 16, at Hunter’s Lodge Field on Route 46E in Knowlton Township. Over 40 musical acts will take the stage in the same location and on the same weekend as the former Knowlton Riverfest. Among the featured acts scheduled for the weekend are Robben Ford, Brave Combo, Gandalf Murphy, Tony Vacca, Rowan Brothers, Swampadelica, Quimby Mountain Band, Hector Del Curto & Eternal Tango, the McDades, the Booglerizers, Magbana Dance & Drum and Professor Louie & the Cromatix. Throughout the weekend the Ascenza Wellness Center Acoustic Tent will showcase a line-up of regional talent that is new to the Knowlton festival scene, including Stephanie White & Rob LaFalce, HelenaMaria, Sarah Donner, Tim Harakil, Spook Handy, Elastic Pyramid, Odarka, and the Pfeiffer Twins. On Sunday, students from the WCCC creative writing program will once again entertain festival-goers with poetry readings. The festival is being presented by Heineken and Anheuser Busch. Other major sponsors include Newton Memorial Hospital, Warren County Community College, Ascenza Wellness Center, Wyndham Garden Hotels, Spartan Oil, GBW Insurance and Communications Service Integrators.
