This month, Father John's Animal House will receive 10 percent of all sales made during the Skylands Gallery & Studio's Second Saturday Opening Show, which was held last Saturday. Exhibits change monthly with the reception held on the second Saturday from 5:30-9:30 p.m.

The current exhibit “Exploration,” which features more than 400 works of art that “explore new subjects, mediums and themes,” will continue until Dec. 11. All artwork is for sale, as well as a selection of high-quality artisan items such as jewelry and handbags, that are definitely worth perusing with holidays coming up.

Although many of the artists step outside of a simple classification, the current exhibiting artists are: Phylis Barfoot, painter and mixed media artist; Jane Brennan-Koeck, painter; Carol Chave, tapestry weaver; Laura Dudes, painter and mixed media artist; Rima Hamade, painter; Claude Larson, textile and mixed media artist; Lisa Lopez, painter; William Lungren, painter; James-Jaie Maione, photographer; John Maione Jr., painter; Qaasim Munoz, painter and digital artist; Janet O'Neil, painter; June Ponte, painter and mixed media artist; Liza Smith-Simpson, painter; Maureen Strelzik, mixed media artist; NS Keith Utter, photographer.

The next show, entitled “Peace on Earth,” also will be a celebration of the gallery’s one-year anniversary. The reception for that show will be on Dec. 12 and the benefiting charity will be SCARC in Newton.

Skylands Gallery & Studio is located at 7 Boulder Hills Boulevard in Wantage. Regular hours are Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., or by appointment.
