It was great running weather for the May 8 Cinco de Mayo 5K Run/Walk in Lafayette. This is the second year for the 5K, which is a benefit for the local educational foundation that helps fund various programs in Lafayette schools. The participants were all ages, shapes, sizes and competitive levels. First place for men was Jeff Staple of Hamburg. First place for women went to Lauren Jackson of Augusta. First place for the kids’ division went to Billy James of Lafayette.
