Red Cross schedules classes

Newton — The following is the upcoming training schedule at the American Red Cross Sussex County Chapter, located at 93 Spring St., Ste. 101, in Newton: An Infant and Child CPR class will be offered on Saturday, May 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees will learn the skills needed to provide care for infants and children in the case of breathing emergencies, and perform CPR. The fee is $55. A First Aid course will be offered on Tuesday, May 4, from 6 to 10 p.m. This course is intended to teach lay responders the knowledge and skills necessary to give care in an emergency, help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives. The fee is $45. A Babysitter’s Training course will be offered on Saturday, May 15, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. For ages 11 to 15. The fee is $65. An Adult CPR/AED course will be offered on Tuesday, May 18, from 6 to 10:30 p.m. The fee is $50. Recertification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer training will be offered on Saturday, May 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or Thursday, June 10 from 6 to 10 p.m. The fee for the class is $45 and participants must have their own pocket masks. Limited scholarships for veterans, military members and their families are available for Red Cross training in any First Aid, CPR, Pet First Aid or Babysitter Training Course through the month of May.
