Rarely Told Story of Lincoln and his Love of Music this weekend

| 29 Sep 2011 | 04:27

More than a simple trivial pastime, President Abraham Lincoln’s reliance on music threatened his winning re-election, served to bouy his spirits when the weight of the war was heavy upon him and brought about a soldier’s pardon. Many more such tales will be told and sung at the home of Tri State Actors Theater in Sussex on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m. The all-professional cast boasts an array of credentials and includes Steve DePass, “America’s Singing Poet,” who has performed for four presidents, on television networks and variety shows, and worldwide for crowned heads, including the Queen Elizabeth II.
