Presentation on Eleanor Roosevelt

Newton In honor of Women’s History Month, Project Self-Sufficiency will present “Eleanor Roosevelt: A New Woman” on Thursday, March 11 at 7 p.m. Rene Goodwin will give the presentation. She is an actress, singer and songwriter who has performed numerous times at both the National Archives and at the White House Visitors Center. The presentation will cover the first 55 years of Roosevelt’s life, including the political climb of her husband, Franklin D. Roosevelt. Goodwin will focus on Eleanor’s life as a woman searching for her place in the world. The event will take place at the agency’s Community Education Center, which is located at 127 Mill Street in Newton. It is free and open to the public but reservations are suggested.
