Performers selected for Skylands Got Talent

The performers have been selected for Newton Theatre’s second annual talent show and fundraising event, Skylands’ Got Talent, on Sunday, April 19 at 3 p.m. All proceeds will benefit Autism related organizations Autism Speaks, Autism NJ and Reed Academy.

A variety of acts were chosen by the Newton Theatre selection committee from more than 40 audition videos submitted by potential candidates. The contestants will perform in front of a live audience and a panel of judges for a chance to win prizes.

The finalists, who are scheduled to perform are vocalist Maria Margot, The Mason Jar Rebellion an acoustic folk, rock, and bluegrass trio, animation dancer Kyle Frey aka Blu3Wave, 11 year old singer Sadie Donnelly, band Princess and the Frogs, No Strings A Cappella, vocalist Mia Monell, musical duo Skipping Wheels of Rhyme, 6th grade singer Sam Garcia, hula hooping sensation Spirit Hoopers, acoustic rock band Twelve Past Dawn, dancer Skylar Dejesus, alternative rock/metal band Immortal Coil, guitarist, singer/songwriter Don Elliker, belly dancer Majda, Soloist Daniel Peter Vissers, Dance Expressions Performing Troupe and Tuvan throat singer Robert McLaughlin.

The contestants will compete for a variety of prizes, donated by: The Newton Theatre (opening act for a show), Steinwand Sound Studio (studio time), Minisink Press (promotional package), Blue Raven Artists (artist t-shirts), Sussex County Music (gift certificate) and Bill Wright School of Music (music lessons).
