Mountain Creek plans Oktoberfest

VERNON — With a sizzling hot summer highlighted by record-attendance numbers at Action Park and Mountain Creek Bike Park, Mountain Creek Resort will celebrate the end of one successful season and the beginning of another with what officials call the biggest Oktoberfest in the area.

Attracting well over 15,000 attendees each year, the weekend-long festival on Sept. 19-20 will offer action-packed fun for the whole family. Kids can enjoy pony rides, Urban Tarzan’s Animal Shows, face painting, sack races and carnival rides while adults can have their fun with stein holding and lumberjack contests, wife-carry relays, sumo wrestling and more challenges.

Guests will feel like they’ve been transported directly to Germany with a full lineup of live entertainment featuring Jimmy Sturr and His Orchestra, Chris Caffery of the Trans Siberian Orchestra, Pokolenie Dancers and plenty more special guests. In keeping with tradition, Mountain Creek will prepare a plethora of mouthwatering eats from wursts to slow-roasted meats over a wood fire. To top it all off, the Resort will have 5,000 gallons of German Biers, ciders and seasonal brews.

Oktoberfest hours are Saturday. Sept. 19, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 20, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Admission will be $7 per person and free for children 5 and younger. there will be VIP packages, general parking will be $5 and preferred parking will be $20.
