Mini-golf tournament and festival is fundraiser to help local families
Vernon The first Tree City Mini-Golf Fundraiser will be held at Cobblestone Village at Mountain Creek in Vernon on this Saturday, May 1 from noon to 8 p.m. (rain date: May 8). It is a fundraiser for the Center for Prevention & Counseling, with all proceeds going to the children and families they serve, whose lives have been affected by substance abuse and addiction. The mini-golf tournament is open to all ages with prizes awarded for winners in each age category. In addition, the day’s events will include an art and music festival featuring local teen bands and an art installation created by Sussex County youth. The mini-golf is $5 to play. The Center for Prevention & Counseling is a non-profit agency located in Newton. Since 1973, their mission has been to promote hope, health and recovery among all people by fostering a community that is safe and free from the harmful effects of substance abuse, addiction, violence and related issues. The agency provides substance abuse prevention programs and counseling services to children, teens, adults and families in Sussex County from all economic and cultural backgrounds.
